You’ve learned the basics- now learn exciting additions you can add to your personal style.  Learn classic Jahara hairography, floorwork, strategic stops, and dynamic moves/ transitions to help solidify your hot person status.

Daring Double Veil

Love single veil but want more?  Dare yourself with a double veil.  Learn technique and combos that will help you add this daring and crowd pleasing prop to your repertoire.

Raq the Rhythm

One of my favorite skills is rhythm identification.  Rhythm is one of the pillars of dance and tells you what should be happening.  Learn rhythms through drills and combos to gain confidence in rhythm identification and dancing to the rhythm.  We will cover at least 5 rhythms in class.   Just a hint - I always love Samai 🙂 Rhythm requests are always welcome.

Veil, Steps & Zills - Oh My!

Step into the liveliness of Arabic Night Clubs in the 70s, 80s and 90s.  This will be an overview of the history of American Cabaret style with a focus on classic steps and prop work of this era.  We will start with a lecture then move into movement. Option to learn a short choreography to really get a feel for this era. 

Floorwork Fun

Floorwork is a fun and interesting way to add dynamic to your dance.  We will cover conditioning exercises needed for floorwork, interesting ways to descend and ascend as well as basic to more advanced moves to do once you are on the floor.   Knee pads are highly recommended.

The Troupe Whisper

Ever watch a troupe and wonder how they were together and dynamic?  Learn tips and tricks to take your troupe to the next level.  We will play with interesting staging patterns, fun group transitions and other troupe dynamics to take your group from drab to FAB.

Jaw Dropping Drum Solo

What makes a good drum solo?  Solid isolations, shimmies and personality.  We will train these elements and learn a signature Jahara style drum solo that you can add to any performance.  Level of skill can be requested - beginner to advanced.

Crafting Choreography

Ever feel stuck while making choreography?  Learn the tools Jahara uses to set herself up for quality performances every time.  Dive into musicality, stage mapping and other useful tools to help you become confident in your own choregraphies every time.

Isolation Sensation

Wow your audience with strong isolations.  Here we will delve into conditioning and drills that will help strengthen your isolations and work on range of motion.  Interesting isolation combinations and brain teasers to take with you to become an isolation sensation.

Vivacious Veil

Make your veil your best dance partner.  We will cover the basics of good veil work, interesting tricks to add to performances, wraps and a long combo.

Master the Mejanse

Join Jahara in demystifying what makes a good mejanse.  We will cover the components that are included in the music as well as learn appropriate steps for each section.  This can be a technique/ theory class or choreography class.

Strong & Sassy Saidi

This one starts with a lecture about the roots of Saidi and moves into Saidi technique.  Learn classic Saidi and folkloric moves to help you feel strong.  A long combo with Jahara sass and style will be used to put the pieces together.  We can cover this with or without Assaya.

The Slowdown

Connect with the breath as we work through the slow soulful moves.  This will have a focus on range of motion in the juicy moves, connecting moves to one another and interesting ways to spice up the slow.
